Our programs give students the extraordinary opportunity to go behind the scenes at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility where they get an up close look at the United States rocketry program, thanks to our partnerships with NASA, NOAA, MARS, and the US Navy. By the end of the week, campers have gained firsthand experience of a wide range of science and engineering careers in an atmosphere designed to fuel enthusiasm.
Our buildings are on the campus of the Chincoteague Bay Field Station, adjacent to the Wallops Flight Facility main gate. Student Dormitories, new for 2010, are state of the art suite like accommodations. 12 students share an air-conditioned suite of 4 bedrooms, with one overnight counselor per dorm. There are 2 bathrooms per suite with 2 separate showers with changing rooms, and 2 private toilet stalls each.
Our students eat most meals at the Wallops Flight Facility Cafeteria. Since we are guests at this facility, and we frequently share the area with members of the military, students are asked to follow strict rules during meals. The food is excellent, and varied to accommodate most dietary requirements.
